Sunlight and Deep Shade

I noticed this red glow some 50 yards away. Walking towards it I saw it was a rose, lit by a shaft of sunlight coming through the trees. Standing in front of the rose I cast a shadow over it, so stood to one side and this is what I saw.

I used the macro facility on the 70-300mm Sigma APO DG with room to play.
